In September of 2006 the crew from Elkhorn Lake Hunt Club had the pleasure of going out twice with Captain Steve Swaisgood of Island Fever Charters. Friday September 22nd dawned with a bit of a rough weather– but Sam Ballou and five of his chums (some literally-) went for a business charter. The crew limited out, with Sam catching a whopper of a smallmouth bass (pictures at left and in the middle, below) -  22” and over 6 pounds!

On the next Tuesday, September 26th the weather was absolutely perfect, and our family went out with Island Fever Charters. The results were tremendous with all five of us catching Fish Ohio perch– over 12” each. One of our daughters caught a walleye in addition to our  limit of perch. Great day, great charter and great fish!

There’s a convenient fish processing center right by the marina, and our 82 pound catch was quickly processed and made ready for the freezer.  It just doesn’t get much better than that!
